La Casa Verde Mexican Eats Opens In San Diego's Little Italy

A new addition to Little Italy's growing culinary scene is officially soft opening this week: La Casa Verde Mexican Eats is making its debut at on India Street, bringing a fresh take on fast-casual Mexican cuisine to one of San Diego's most popular neighborhoods.

Located in the former Everbowl space, directly across from the Consulado General de México, La Casa Verde is the latest venture from restaurateur Atheer Ascandar, who previously operated the Gelato & Chocolate Factory and currently runs Pizza on 5th in the Gaslamp Quarter. This marks his first foray into Little Italy, a district typically dominated by Italian restaurants and upscale bars.

To kick things off, La Casa Verde is celebrating its soft opening with a $5 taco special featuring a variety of choices including carne asada, pollo asado, adobada, fish, and veggie options. The full menu, which will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings, is set to roll out next week.

The eatery promises a laid-back, approachable alternative to more upscale or concept-driven spots in the neighborhood, like King and Queen Cantina. While many details of the menu remain under wraps, early signs suggest a focus on classic flavors with wide appeal, like burritos, rolled tacos, and bowls.

La Casa Verde Mexican Eats is now open at 1534 India Street in San Diego's Little Italy. For more information, follow .
