Escondido Social Taproom will be owned and operated by Aldo Barboza, Matthew Holden, and Ethan Loos - three hospitality professionals with direct ties to the space from its days under Little Miss Brewing. The trio, all Escondido residents, previously worked at the same location when it operated as a Little Miss satellite taproom. After the company shut down all nine of its locations in March 2025, they secured the downtown space to launch their own concept focused on local craft beer, wine, and community engagement.
Escondido Social Taproom will offer a rotating selection of San Diego craft beer and regional wine, along with alternative beverage options. The owners plan to host live music, themed nights, and community-oriented events to establish the space as a hub for local gathering.
Renovations to the roughly 600-square-foot venue are already underway. Upgrades include a redesigned interior for better flow and expanded communal seating, as well as plans for a future revamp of the back patio to support private and public events. Once open, the business will operate seven days a week, with extended evening hours on weekends. The patio renovation will be completed after the initial launch.
The opening of Escondido Social follows a similar move by Hopnonymous Brewing, which recently announced plans to open its first satellite taproom in Normal Heights. That location, like Escondido Social, will take over a shuttered Little Miss Brewing site - underscoring how San Diego’s former taproom network is finding new life through independent operators.
Escondido Social Taproom aims to open by mid-July at 132 North Kalmia Street in San Diego's North County city of Escondido. For more information, follow .
